Course Synopsis
How are you feeling? Would you love to wake up tomorrow, happier than you did this morning? We know that happy people are 35% less likely to get sick and live on average, 9 years longer than their unhappy counterparts. This 8-week course, based on the New York Times bestseller book, ‘Happy For No Reason’ by Marci Schimoff, will explore the key concepts and research around the science of happiness. We will learn about the 21 Happiness Habits and how to increase happiness levels for your own peace of mind, health and wellbeing. The course will include a variety of simple exercises to involve mind, body, heart and spirit, presented in a fun and engaging way through personal stories, factual evidence, practical tasks, short videos and anecdotes.

Starting at The Chocolate Quarter, Keynsham BS31 2GJ on Tuesday 30th January 2.00pm and running until 26th March 2024. Sessions are for 1 hour and there is no class on 13th February. Classes will be held in the 'Sanctuary' room.

Responsibilities of the Trainer
Your trainer has been certified to teach ‘Happy For No Reason’ by Schimoff & Associates Incorporated. The course content is based on the work of Marci Schimoff from her book, the New York Bestseller, ‘Happy For No Reason’. The HFNR course teaches a set of practices designed to increase levels of happiness and wellbeing, backed by scientific research and anecdotal evidence as given in the book.
The trainer will utilise materials provided by Schimoff & Associates Inc, along with their own material, including further reporting on new scientific studies around wellbeing and happiness, personal anecdotes, stories and practical exercises based around the trainer's qualifications and expertise, to provide an experience that is bespoke to the specific audience.
Your trainer is not a Medical Doctor, psychiatrist or psychologist. Any content from the HFNR workshop, should not be construed as, nor should you believe that it is a substitute for the advice of a licensed medical professional person. If you have a psychological condition for which you need treatment, you are advised to seek help from an appropriately qualified medical professional or mental health worker. This course is not suitable for participants suffering from severe mental disorders and the trainer reserves the right to refuse participation to anyone exhibiting signs of psychological disturbance.
HFNR workshops are delivered in a group setting as a class and are not intended to be personal coaching sessions. If you wish to receive personal coaching the trainer is also certified as a Quest Cognitive Hypnotherapist (Dip.C.Hyp) with a Hypnotherapy in Practice Diploma (HPD), a Master Practitioner & Coach in NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming), Time Line® Therapy & Hypnosis, as well as a certified Energy Codes® Coach and Facilitator by Dr Sue Morter of the Morter Institute for BioEnergetics. Responsibilities of the Participant
In order to gain the most benefit from the course, it is the responsibility of the Participant to fully engage in the course material, including the weekly practices.
For workshops taking place online participants are required to have their cameras on, in a space free from distractions, wearing appropriate clothing and taking responsibility to ensure that safeguarding is adhered to, including safeguarding of other members of the participants household as well as to other participants on the course.
Privacy & Recordings
For online classes, it is understood that courses may be recorded on Zoom and that the recording of a class may be made available to participants for a limited time period. The recording may also be utilised by the trainer in the promotion and delivery of other HFNR courses. If you do not wish to appear on camera in the recording, you must inform the trainer, otherwise participants may be spotlighted.
Cancellation & Refunds
Participants are expected to attend the course live. The fee paid for the course is non-refundable. Participants purchasing a course may cancel their course within 14 days of purchase, provided that the cancellation precedes the delivery of any course content, including books and materials.
GDPR & Confidentiality
Your trainer will retain for their records any information you have given, including personal contact details, documents, questionnaires, emails, photos and videos. These details will be used to keep any records as prescribed by the law, as well as for contacting you about future events and workshops, anonymised research purposes and for emailing occasional information pertinent to your health and wellbeing. Your information will never be passed on to a third party without your express permission and any information that is kept will be stored on a password protected laptop. If you wish to opt out of receiving emails you can do so by letting us know in writing.
Terms of Business
The fee is paid for the time spent in delivering and preparing the training and our liability is limited to the amount paid for the workshop.
These Terms of Business shall be governed by and construed in accordance with English Law and shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

It is understood by the participant that the trainer cannot offer any guarantees that the course will increase the participant’s happiness level as this is as much dependent on the input of the participant.
