I had six sessions with Michelle specifically to work on performance anxiety around my upcoming diploma exam. During the sessions we talked about how I wanted the performance to be and how I wanted to be able to manage my nervousness and not fall apart even if I made some mistakes. Michelle made me comfortable talking during the sessions and I felt that it was a safe space to be honest. On the day, I got out of the car, walked to the exam centre and felt the butterflies in my stomach. However, after I had unpacked my instrument and started to warm-up the butterflies went away. There were still mistakes and moments where I lost concentration, but it was the best and calmest performance I ever remember doing. I left the exam centre smiling!

"I had an online session with Michelle to work on performance anxiety in advance of a solo violin performance. I have to admit that I was somewhat sceptical about hypnotherapy and I didn’t really know what to expect. What struck me was how natural and easy the session felt; Michelle’s calm and positive manner instantly put me at ease and I found it easy to visualise the successful performance that I was hoping to achieve. The whole experience felt at once deeply relaxing and uplifting, and as we ended the session I felt a real sense of calm. That said, I had no expectation of there being any lasting effects. However, a few days later when I performed in the concert, I genuinely felt the most relaxed and focused that I have ever felt in a performance, able to enjoy it and feel completely myself. It was almost eerie! Not only that, the visualisation techniques that Michelle guided have served me in many situations since, not just musical. I would wholeheartedly recommend Michelle as a coach; she is entirely focused on you as a whole person and has a wonderfully reassuring positive energy."
